FL Keys Evacuation Zones: Zone A = highest risk (evacuates first). US-1 is the only road out of the Keys. Contraflow (one-way outbound) activates for major storms — leave before it gets congested.
Your Go/No-Go Rule: Blue Water recommends leaving when a Category 1+ storm is projected within 72 hours of your location. Don't wait for mandatory orders.
Watch vs. Warning: Watch = possible within 48 hrs. Warning = expected within 36 hrs. By the time a warning is issued, roads are already backed up for hours.
RV Wind Rating: Most Class A and C rigs are rated 60–80 mph. Category 1 starts at 74 mph. Do not shelter in your RV during a hurricane warning.
