Great Outdoor Cottages Hosted Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House for Their New Georgetown, DE Facility
Great Outdoor Cottages to bring over 100 new jobs, growth to Sussex County, Delaware
Ocean City, Md. (December 16, 2022) Blue Water business partner Great Outdoor Cottages celebrated their ribbon cutting and open house for their new facility in Delaware Coastal Business Park in Georgetown, Delaware. Great Outdoor Cottages has hired 110 employees since its inception and plans to hire over 100 more to support its growth.
"For the community, it means more jobs and more stimulus and employment for a long time to come," said Todd Burbage, CEO of Blue Water and Great Outdoor Cottages. "We plan to grow right here in our own footprint. We purchased the acreage right next door and already have plans to expand because it's been so successful, and we feel so welcomed by the community."
There was a great turnout for the event from the local community including Sussex County Council President Mike Vincent, Sussex County Administrator Todd Lawson, Sussex County Economic Development Director William Pfaff, Sussex County Vice President Doug Hudson, and Sussex County Councilman John Rieley, as well as members of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce who helped coordinate the event. Among media present were WBOC, who conducted an interview with Todd Burbage, and WRDE-TV.

Theirs is a success story, and Great Outdoor Cottages is a perfect example of the type of manufacturing client – and jobs – we want to bring to Sussex County. We look forward to their continued growth in the hospitality and housing sectors, which will only serve to boost our local economy right here in southern Delaware.”
Guests enjoyed tours of the plant and axe throwing from Odyssey Axe Throw. CFO of Great Outdoor Cottages John Longino, COO of Great Outdoor Cottages Mike Scheid, and Todd Burbage presented a check to the secretary and treasurer of Clothing Our Kids, Merrill Cohen in the amount of $10,000. This local organization provides clothing to elementary and middle school students in need throughout Sussex County. Afterward, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was facilitated by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.
