Blue Water Development Hosts Big Brothers Big Sisters for Outdoor Excursion
OCEAN CITY, Md. (August 9, 2017) – Blue Water Development hosted Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore on Saturday, August 5th for an excursion to Sea Rocket Adventures and Nick’s Golf. Approximately 30 children, ages 6-18, participated in the event.
Blue Water, which co-owns Sea Rocket Adventures, hosted the group for a ride aboard the flagship Sea Rocket, an oversized speedboat renowned for its rooster tail spray and dolphin sightings. Blue Water then took the group to Nick’s Golf for mini golf.
“Seeing their smiles says it all,” said Blue Water Chief Operating Officer Bob Thompson. “We love the opportunity to get kids out on the water, kids who maybe have never been on a boat before. We consider the greater Ocean City community our family, and it’s important that we help provide kids with wholesome outdoor experiences.”
“Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore is so grateful for the experience extended to the children and mentoring matches in our program,” said Jessica Mimms, Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore. “For many of them it was their first experience on a boat. Everyone had a wonderful time on the water, listening to music and seeing the dolphins and viewing the beach from the water!”
Blue Water hopes this will be the first of many collaborations with Big Brothers Big Sisters. “We would love to work with more chapters to bring the Ocean City experience to these kids,” Thompson added. “Between Sea Rocket Adventures and our suite of renovated RV resorts, we have big plans to provide unique experiences for our community.”
